Mrs. Treece died at 1:30 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 11, 1979, at Union County Hospitall. She was a cook at the Anna State Hospital for 23 years and a member of the Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church. She was born May 19, 1900 in Union County, to Willis M.

and Norola Yates Treece. She married Frank Treece July 25, 1920. She is survived by a brother, Raymond Treece of Cobden; two sisters, Jewell Watkins and Blonn Earnhart, both of Anna; five nieces and several great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband. Mr. Keller was the retired custodian of the Maid-Rite Restaurant in Du Quoin. He was a veteran of World War II. Mr. Keller was a Baptist.

He was born July 22, 1915, in Cambria. He was married Dec. 24, 1949T in Du Quoin, to Hazel Thompson. Survivors include his wife; one stepdaughter, Bonnie Bird Horner of Du Quoin; two stepsons, John Raymond Bird of Bloomington and Ronnie Eugene Bird of Du Quoin; one sister, Hat-tie Sanders of Murphysboro; one brother, Melvin Keller of Sparta; and six grandchildren. One sister and one grandchild preceded him in death.

Davis, 68, of Ava, died Sunday, Nov. 11, 1979, at Memorial Hospital in Carbondale, after a brief illness. She was born June 18, 1911, in Ora Township, Jackson County, to Jacob abd Nettie Pierson Hiser. Shw was married in 1930 at Ava, to Harmon Davis. Survivors include her husband and nieces and nephews.

Her parents and five brothers preceded her in death. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Wilson Funeral Home in Ava. Burial will be in the Ava Evergreen Cemetery. Friends may call after 5:30 p.m.

Tuesday at the funeral home. Elva T. Lackey Elva T. Lackey, 74, of Paducah, died at 1:51 a.m. today, Nov.

12, 1979, at I Lourdes Hospital in Paducah. Mr. Lackey was retired from the U.S. I Corps of Engineers and was a member I of Caledonia Masonic Lodge No. 47 of Pulaski.

He was a member of the First Christian Church of Paducah. He was born Sept. 25, 1905, in Pulaski, to Mr. and Mrs. Ed Lackey.

Survivors include his wife, Lucille, of Paducah, and four brothers. Earl and Edward of Pulaski, Alfred of Cairo and Robert of Merritt Island, Fla. He. is also survived by two grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one son, Daryl Lee Lackey, in 1972.

Masonic funeral rites will be at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at Crain Funeral Home in Mounds. Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery at Pulaski.

Friends may call after 4 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Henry Wenzel Henry Wenzel, 84, of 306 E. 7th Johnston City, died at 2:30 a.m. Sunday, Nov.

11, 1979, at the Marion Memorial Hospital in Marion. Mr. Wenzel was a retired coal miner. He was a member of the United Mine Workers of Americal Local No. 8490, the St.

Paul's Catholic Church of Johnston City; and the Holy Name Society of the church. He was born Oct. 24, 1895, in Rid-gway, to Joseph and Amelia Sauer Wenzel. He was married Nov. 3, 1920, in Rid-gway, to Katherine Cox.

Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Wanda Mossman of Equality; a son, Henry Hubert Wenzel of Houston, Texas; three grandchildren; two greatgrandchildren; two brothers, Urban Wenzel and Victor Wenzel, both of Evansville, five sisters, Hilda Gronotte, Gertrude Wenzel, Marie Wenzel and Rocina Wenzel, all of Evansville, and Elfrieda Kane of Rid-gway. He was preceded in death by two brothers. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at' the St. Paul's Catholic Church in Johnston City.

11, 1979, at home. Suspect held after burglary Harold E. Smith, 29, of Nashville was arrested in Rice Friday night by the Perry County Sheriff's Department on a burglary warrant. Smith was sought in connection with the Nov. 5 burglary of the rural Pinckneyville home of Tom Freeman.

Everett Freeman Everett Freeman, 70, of Murphysboro, died at 2:15 a.m. today, Nov. 12, 1979, at home. Mr. Freeman was a carpenter-foreman for the R.

B. Stephens Construction Co. in Carbondale. He was a member of Carpenters Local No. 841 in Carbondale for 38 years.

He was born Dec. 6, 1908, in Murphysboro, to William and Dollie Jeffery Freeman. He married Nora Morris Nov. 11, 1933. Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Dollie Freeman and Donna Ridings, both of Murphysboro, and Lois Reames of Peoria; a son, Everett of Carbondale; two brothers, Charles- of Murphysboro and Robert of Redlands, and a sister, Helen Bonita of California.

He is also survived by six grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Assembly of God Church in Carbondale. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Makanda. Friends may call after 6 p.m.

Wednesday at Walker Funeral Home in Carbondale. Clifton Luckey Clifton Luckey, 67, of 913 S. 12th Herrin, died at 2:05 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 11, 1979, at Herrin Hospital after a brief illness.

Mr. Luckey was a retired engineer for the Burlington-Northern Railroad. He was a veteran of World War II. He was born Jan. 29, 1912, in Herrin, to Troy and Ethel Weir Luckey.

He was married July 5, 1946, in Osceola, to Pauline Roberts. Survivors include his wife and a son, Richard, of Springfield. Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Johnson Funeral Home in Herrin. Burial will be in the Herrin City Cemetery.

Friends may call after 5 p.m. today at the funeral home. Charles 'Red' Mitchell Charles "Red" Mitchell, 95, of Mat-toon, formerly of 112 S. 21st Herrin, died at 7:45 p.m. Saturday, Nov.

10, 1979, at his daughter's home in Mattoon. Mr. Mitchell was a retired engineer for the Chicago.Burlington Quincy Railroad. He was a member of the Herrin Eagles Lodge No. 1549 and the Dahl-gren Masonic Lodge No.

967. He was born Aug. 2, 1894, in Hamilton County, to Berry and Maryjane Smith Mitchell. His wife, Mary, died Nov. 22, 1965.

Survivors include two daughters, Marie Bush of Monroe, and Mary Jane Breeze of Mattoon, two sons, Charles Ernest Mitchell of Parshell, and James Mitchell of Marion, 14 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Johnson Funeral Home in Herrin. Burial will be in the Richardson Hill Cemetery in Dahlgren. Friends may call after 5 p.m.

Tuesday at the funeral home. Joseph H. Joseph H. Nichols, 49, of 3400 Cumberland Road, Winston Salem, N.C., former of Carbondale, died Saturday, Nov. 1979, in a hospital there.

Mr. Nichols. was born Jan. 20, 1930, in Carbondale, to Thomas J. and Nina Keathly ivjichols.

He. was graduated from the former Attucks Grade and High School in Carbondale, where he excelled in basketball under Coach Joseph D. Russell. He received his bachelor's degree from Winston State Teachers College and his master's degree from A State College in Greensboro, N.C. He was married to Selena Hemphill in North Carolina.

Mr. Nichols was a member of the First Baptist Church in Winston Salem. He was a teacher at the Kimberley Park Intermediate School, where he mathematics and physical education. He was a member of the Winston Salem Alumni Assocaition, served las chairman of the Homecoming Committee, and was a member of the North KTarolina Association of Education. His father and a brother preceded Ijjm in death.

Survivors include his wife, Selena; a mh, Joseph: and a daughter, Sylvia ftene, all of Winston Salem; his mother, Nina Nichols of Murphysboro; three brothers, Thomas of Chicago, Ted of Los Angeles, and Lawrence of Massac County educator Billy L. Hod Billy Leverne Hodge, 47, of Belknap, died Sunday, Nov. 12, 1979, at home after a lengthy illness. Mr. Hodge was the principal of Jefferson Grade School in Massac County for 22 years.

He was Republican committeeman of the Belknap Precinct, trustee of the Village Board, a member of both the Kiwanis Club and the Elks Club of Metropolis and past master of Belttnap Masonic Lodge No. 822. He was also a member of the Illinois Principals Association, the Illinois Education Association and the National Education Association. Williams was a member of the First Baptist Church of West Frankfort, and the Extern Star Lodge of West Frankfort. She was born April 28, 1889, in West Frankfort, Pleasant and Arnetta Moore Guntcr. Her husband, Bruce, died in 1973. Survivors include a daughter, Jean Henson of Sanford, three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be 3 p.m.
