Black, husband of Alice Black, SOI West Monro6 street, Herrin, has been awarded the Combat Infantryman badge, a symbol of close-quarter fighting with the enemy, while serving with the 1st Cavalry division in Korea. The badge consists of a minia ture replica of a Revolutionary war flintlock mounted on a blue background and superimposed on a silver wreath. It distnguishes the actual fighting man from rear area and service troops. Pfc. Black is now serving with the 1st Cavalry division's 5th Cavalry regiment.

To PJay fit SIU Oct. 26 Southern Illinois university's homecoming play, "Goodbye, My Fancy," will be presented Oct. 26 in Shryock auditorium. The three-act comedy by Fay Kanin is the story of a congress-woman who returns to her old school to be awarded an honorary degree. Madeline Carroll starred in the Broadway production, and Joan Crawford played in the film version.

Dr. Archibald McLeod cf the S. I. U. speech department will direct the play.
