Almond Carbondaie, died at 5:15 p.m. Sunday, April 5, 1981, in Memorial Hospital in Carbondaie. Mrs. Charles was a member of the Makanda Baptist Church and the Carbondaie Rebekah Lodge.

She was born May 21, 1890, in Cob-den, to Andrew J. and Ellen Broadway Eaves. She married Fred W. Blessing in May 1908. He died in 1935.

She later married Leonard Charles. He preceded her. in death Sept. 9, 1972. Survivors include one son, Donald, of Fairfield; five daughters, Nellie Scholl and Joyce Hawk, both of Peoria, Ruth Allen Lipe of Carbon-dale, Evelyne Stanley of California and Ethel Childers of Norris City; five stepsons, Ray Charles and Bill Charles, both of Carbondaie, and Bob, Vernon and Victor Lence; a stepdaughter, Vivian Lence; 21 grandchildren; 38 great-grand-chilren; and five great-greatgrandchildren.

She was preceded in death by four sons, Charles, Gerald Dee, Melvin and Bill. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Huffman Funeral Home in Carbondaie. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in Makanda. Friends may call after 6 p.m.

Tuesday at the funeral home. Pearl C. Frick Pearl C. Frick, 84, of Route 3, Marion, died at' 9 p.m. Saturday, April 4, 1981, at the home of her daughter, Helen Burton, in Berwyn.

She was born in Pulleys Mill on March 19, 1897, to Thomas and Caroline Stanley Walker. She was married to Willie B. Nor-ris, who preceded her in death. She later married Leo E. Frick in 1947; he also preceded her in death in 1980.

Mrs. Frick was a member of the Trinity Baptist Church in Los Angeles, Calif. Survivors are her daughter of Berwyn; two sons, Bill L. Norris of Woodlawn and Fred Norris of Evansville, 10 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild; a stepdaughter, Ruby Short of Marion; and two stepsons, Bob Frick of Johnston City and Gene Frick of Tujunga, Calif. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m.

University Carbondaie. Open to all women. tSk Until TuMday Anna Marie Kurwicki Anna Marie Kurwicki, 83, of Route 3 in Nashville, died Sunday, April 3, 1981, at, her home. She was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church in Posen and a member of the Altar Society. She was born on July 26, 1897, in Chicago to Stanley and Mary Kania Kipowski.

She married Steve Kurwicki in Posen on July 27, 1914; he preceded her in death on Oct. 29, 1968. Survivors include six sons, John, i I i t-t a -ii muM, auu rjniesi, ail oi lasnvilie, Ezador and Stanley both of Ted of Scheller; one daughter, Irene Bathon of Oakdale; three brothers, Frank Kipowski, Leo Kipowski and Marion Kipowski, all of St. Louis; two sisters, Lucille Lichter of St. Louis, and Irene Evans of Kentucky; one son-in-law, Melroy Hol-zhauer of Washington; 31 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one daughter, Severine Hol-zhauer, one grandson, Richard Kurwicki; three great-granddaughters; and two sisters. Friends may call at the Pyatt Funeral Home in Nashville today after 7 p.m. and again on Tuesday from 8 a.m. untill 9 p.m. The rosary will be recited at 8 p.m.

until time of services Tuesday at the church. Mr. McKee died at 9:30 p.m. Saturday, April 4, 1981, in Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau, Mo. A retired farmer, he was a member of the Alexander Freewill Baptist Church.

He was a veteran of World War II. He was born March 17, 1914, in Olive Branch, to Clarence S. and Mary Elizabeth Bedwell McKee. He married Doris Connel Feb. 14, 1933, in Olive Branch.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Maurice of Wood River and Otha Eugene of Olive Branch; two daughters, Betty Bishop of Bunker Hill and Barbara June Storm of Olive Branch; six brothers, Orville of South Roxanna, Clarence S. Jr. of Tamms, Allen of Beaver Dam, Har-ley of Decatur and Louie "Mac" and Todd, both of Brighton; two sisters, Lena Rockie of Evansville, and Priscilla Linblock of Wadsworth, Ohio; 12 grandchildren and 12 greatgrandchildren. A daughter, Dora Lena Orick, and two brothers, Billy E. and Teddy preceded him in death.

James Lawrence Honey James Lawrence Honey, 55, of Tamms, died today, April 6, 1981, at his home following a long illness. Mr. Honey was a member of the Sandy Creek Baptist Church. He served in the Marine Corps during World War II and was a member of American Legion Post 178 in Villa Ridge. He was born April 20, 1925, in Charleston, to Charles F.

and Zula G. Anderson Honey. He married Lo-retta Dean Morris Jan. 1, 1947. Survivors include his wife; two sons, J.

L. of Springfield and Keith" of Elco; one daughter, Laura Huffman of Kevil, two granddaughters, Tara Huffman and Heather Honey; his mother of Anna; a brother, Leslie of Cairo; and an uncle, Gerald Honey of Tamms. He was preceded in death by a son, Phillip, in 1952 and a sister, Lois Beasley, on April 7, 1978. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Crain Funeral Home in Tamms, with burial in McCrite Cemetery near Tamms.

Friends may call after 4 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Clyde Austin McGuire Clyde Austin McGuire, 62, of 304 Buchanan, Benton, died at 3:15 p.m. Sunday, April 5, 1981, at the Union Hospital in West Frankfort. Mr.

McGuire was a retired employee of McDonnell-Douglas Corp. in St. Louis. He was born Jan. 17, 1919, in Illinois to Clyde E.

and Louise Tedrow McGuire. Survivors include four brother, Jack of Benton, Robert of Roxanna, Paul of Columbus, Ohio, and Tom of LaMesa, and four sisters, Dorothy Allen, Helen Piercy and Judy Rose, all of Benton, and Linda Norcross of Hastings, Neb. Funeral services be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Poulson Funeral Home in Benton. Burial will be in Masonic and Odd Fellows Cemetery in Benton.

ALCOHOLICS Anonymous and Driver hurt, 4 cows killed in collision Four head of cattle were killed and a Vienna man slightly injured Sunday night when the four-wheel-drive vehicle he was driving ran into a herd of strays. Steve Easley of Vienna was driving eastbound on Illinois 146 at 8 p.m. when his vehicle collided with the stray cattle, according to the Johnson County sheriff's department.

Heavy damage was reported to the Jeep Easley was driving. He suffered minor injuries but did not require hospitalization. The cattle, valued at about $2,000 each, were believed to belong to Norman Jones of rural Vienna. llr)rinn woman held -a. Ofl COUIIlS VVMMW A Marion woman was held in the Williamson County Jail over the weekend under $3,000 cash bond following her, arrest Friday on a warrant charging her with 11 counts of deceptive practice.

Patricia Newton, 25, of Marion is charged with writing 11 checks to businesses in Marion, Herrin and Johnston City between Feb. 14 and Feb. 18, 1980 on an account with insufficient funds. She was expected to enter an initial appearance today in circuit court in Williamson County. Rape reported in Carbondaie Southern Illinois University-Car-bondale Security Police" are investigating a rape that apprently occurred about 3 a.m.

Saturday. According to police, the 19-year-old SIU-C student was walking through the woods between Morris Library and Faner Hall when she was attacked by a man she described as between 23 and 25 years old, 5 feet, 11 inches tall and weighing 180 poounds. Police said no weapons were used during the assault. The victim reported no other injuries. Fire destroys mobile home and garage A mobile home and garage in northwest Marion were destroyed by fire around noon Sunday, according to the Marion Fire Department.

Firefighters said the Bob McRoy home in Scottsboro was in flames when they arrived at noon. No injuries were reported. A westbound car driven by Lawrence Diamond, 23, of Willisville attempted a left turn and was struck by the Deal car.

A car driven by Larry Diamond, 28, of Cutler had stopped behind the other Diamond car and was struck by the Deal car after the -initial collision. Deal and daughter Holly, 8, were in satisfactory condition today at Pinckneyville Memorial Hospital. Neither Lawrence nor Larry -Diamond received treatment, the hospital reported, but Lawrence's wife, Susan, 25, was treated and released! Jerry Halley, 20, of 314 Schneider Hall, Southern Illinois University-Carbondale campus, charged with armed robbery. He is accused of taking $18 at gunpoint from John Na-tale on March 26. Halley was released on a $1,000 bond.

His preliminary hearing has been set for 9 a.m., April 16. Wife accused of smuggling drug into jail Information will be filed today by the Franklin County sheriff's office with the state's attorney accusing a West" Frankfort woman with at tempting to smuggle marijuana into the jail. The sheriff's office said a packet of uic uiug was luuiiu uy uic jaiici ui a routine search outside the cellblock area made after visitors left Sunday. According to the sheriff's office, the packet was allegedly left by Becki Shepherd, 24, who visited her husband, Greg. He is held on a charge of armed robbery of the Huck's Convenience Store in West Frankfort.

Ava woman pleads guilty in check case Alberta Hoyle, 20, of Ava, has pleaded guilty in circuit court in Jackson to deceptive practices. She is accused of writing three bad checks between Oct. 15 and Dec. 1979, for amounts ranging from $61 to $94, to Tru-Value Hardware in Carbondaie, Horner-Raush in Carbondaie and Pic's Electronics in Carbondaie. Sentencing in the case is set for 11 a.m., June 8.

Ms. Hoyle currently is serving a sentence in the Dwight Correctional Center for women in Illinois on other bad check charges. Youth granted fine, probation in cocaine case Brent Dutton, 20, of rural Marion has been placed on four years probation in circuit court in Williamson County after pleading guilty to two counts of unlawful delivery of cocaine. Dutton was charged with delivering less than 30 grams of cocaine to agents of the Southern Illinois Enforcement Group on April 14 and March 17, 1980. He pleaded guilty to the charges March 2.

Circuit Judge William A. ewis also ordered Dutton to pay a $250 fine and make restitution for each of the drug purchases by SIJBG agents. Alvina W. 'Ollie' Hildebrand Funeral services for Alvina W. "Ollie" Hildebrand, 78, of Nashville, will be at 2 p.m.

Tuesday at the Krupp Funeral Home in Nashville, with burial in St. Paul's United Chkch of Christ Cemetery. Friends may call after 4 p.m. today at the funeral home. Mrs.

Hildebrand died Saturday, April 4, 1981, in Washington County Hospital. She was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ. She was born Nov. 1, 1902, in Okawville, to Fred and Elizabeth Witte Gransche.

She married Edward Hildebrand Aug. 31, 1941 in Nashville. He died Nov. 23, 1967. Survivors include three sisters, Minnie Thompson and Edna Hilder-brand, both of Nashville, and Opal Bell of Redwood City, and a brother, Fred of Brookfield, Mo.

Mrs. Hildebrand also was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers. Leo Pulley Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. today at Morton and Johnston Funeral Home in Benton for Leo Pulley, 77, of 913 W. Webster, Benton, who died Saturday, April 4, 1981, at Franklin Hospital in Benton.

Burial will be in Maplewood Cemetery in Marion. Mr. Pulley was a retired coal miner and farmer. He was a member of the Bethel Community Church. He was born April 9, 1903, in Illinois, to Logan and Martha Herrin Pulley.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, the former Ora Gower. He was also preceded in death by three brothers and one sister. Survivors include his wife, the former Gladys Adams; two stepsons, Dale Adams of Benton and ROnald Adams of Rosewood Heights; one stepdaughter, Doris Manion of Benton; one sister, Nona Felts of Marion; one brother-in-law, George Gower of Benton; and several nieces and nephews. Mary Hubbs Corbett Services for Mary Hubbs Corbett, 68, of Wolf Lake, will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Lutz Rendleman Funeral Home in Anna.

Burial will be in Jonesboro Cemetery. Friends may call after 5 p.m. today at the funeral home. Mrs. Corbett died unexpectedly Saturday, April 4, 1981, at her home.

She was a member of the Wolf Lake United Methodist Church. She was born Jan. 26, 1913, in Wolf Lake, to James and Nora Mullins Hubbs. Survivors include a daughter, Janice Thomas of Grand Rapids, a son, Bob of Lansing, one sister, Hallie Dunn of Crystal Lake; two brothers, Elmer "Pete" of Anna and Merl of Lockport; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by one sister, Eula, and five brothers, Paul, Joe, Charles, Louis and Francis.

Margaret Henley Margaret Henley, 71, of Route 2, Mulkeytown, died at 4:30 p.m. Saturday, April 4, 1981, in the Franklin Hospital at Benton. Mrs. Henley was a housewife and member of the Zeigler First Baptist Church. She was born Jan.

10, 1910, in Illinois to William and Mary Sprahin Russell. They preceded her in death. Survivors include her husband, Ray; two sons, John Henley of Route 2, Mulkeytown and Tom Henley of Benton; two daughters, Peggy Henley of Route 2, Mulkeytown and Sandy Munday of Benton; and six grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Poulson Funeral Home in Benton.

Danco 21, of Sparta, was released under $1,000 bond over the weekend in Randolph County pending an appearance in court on a charge of unlawful possession of cannabis.

Danco was arrested Saturday night in Sparta by Sparta police. He was also charged with illegal possession of alcohol. Kevin D. Troutman, 17, of Sparta, was released under $1,000 bond pending a court hearing on a charge of criminal damage to property under $150. Troutman was arrested by Sparta police Saturday afternoon.

James J. Pille, 57, of Sparta, was also arrested Saturday afternoon by Sparta police and charged with criminal trespass to land, illegal possession of alcohol, and no valid registration. $1,000 Three-car crash injures 3 in Pinckneyville family Deborah Deal, 32, of Pinckneyville was in fair condition today at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Belleville following a three-car traffic accident Sunday evening.
