Ninth died at 8:55 p.m. Friday, Oct. 9, 1992, at home. Services will be at 1 p.m.

Monday in Park Avenue Church of God, with the Revs. J.K. Tiffin and Don Col-son officiating. Burial will be in East Lawn Memorial Gardens in Energy. Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m.

today at Johnson-Hughes Funeral Home, and after 1 1 a.m. Monday at the church. Mr. Lane had worked as a foreman at Norge for 40 years. He was greatly admired by all of his employees.

A born-again Christian, Mr. Lane attended the Park Avenue Church of God. He was born Aug. 28, 1920, in Herrin to Luther Lane and Beullah (Council) Lane. He married Ruby Dagnan on Oct.

1, 1941, in Benton, Mo. She survives. Other survivors include three daughters and sons-in-law, Janet and Mike Worthen of Herrin, Lana and Denton Sparks of Memphis, Tenn. and Lisa and Todd Ward of Herrin; one son, Gregory Scott Lane of Herrin; granddaughter-irt-law, Adele Tellor of Herrin; five grandsons; three sisters, Nadine Annis of Roy-alton, Lodema Ray of Thompson-ville and Mavis Reynolds of Ferges; three brothers, Lawrence Colson Jr. of Herrin, Ronnie Colson of Roy-alton and the Rev.

Donnie Colson of Ferges; and several nieces and Joseph W. Restivo JOHNSTON CITY Joseph W. Restivo, 56, of 409 W. 1 1th died at 12:01 a.m. Friday, Oct.

9, 1992, in Herrin Hospital. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in St. Paul Catholic Church, with Monsignor Paulin Dobkowski officiating. Burial will be in Lake-view Cemetery.

Visitation will be after 5 p.m. today at Murman and Wilson Funeral Home, where the rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. today. Mr. Restivo was a retired businessman.

He had formerly worked for Restivo Restaurant Equipment Co. in St. Louis; he previously lived and worked in Chicago, Tarrytown, N.Y. and the Hawaiian Islands. He also served as food and beverage director for Tan Son Nhut Air Base in Vietnam in 1969.

He was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church, and was an avid outdoor sportsman of hunting, fishing, skeetshooting and golf. He was in Air Force during peacetime and stationed in Texas. He was born Oct. 7, 1936, in Freeman Spur to Cottie Restivo and Fern (Dare) Restivo.

He married Patricia Skrelunas on April 23, 1960. She survives. Other survivors include his mother of Freeman Spur; two brothers and sisters-in-law, James (Doris) Restivo and Jack (Sarah) Restivo; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Barbara (Charles) Foster and Jeanette (Arnie) Edson, all of Freeman Spur; five aunts, Jennie Rinchiuso and Donna Dare, both of Freeman Spur; Mary Restivo and Ruby Restivo, both of Herrin, and Rosa Restivo of Energy; one uncle, James Dare of Freeman Spur; eight nephews, Charles Mark, Terry and David By Nick Howes Southern Illinoisan Correspondent A Carbondale man appearing in federal court in Benton was arrested on a warrant for murder Friday. Benton and Carbondale police, along with Franklin County Sheriff deputies, arrested Eddie B. Shaw III.

Shaw, 30, lives in Carbondale at 700 S. Lewis Lane, Apt. 800. Shaw was held in Franklin County Jail until he was extradited to Granite City. According to Granite City police, Shaw was arrested on a warrant issued by the Madison County State's Attorney after a weeklong investigation by the Granite City police.

Police said Shaw was being charged with two counts of first-degree murder, in connection with the death of a Granite City cab driver. Police said physical evidence and witnesses tie Shaw to the murder scene where 45-year-old Terry Whipple was killed Tuesday. On Saturday, Shaw was being held without bond in the Granite City jail. His appearance in federal court in Benton on Friday was not related to the current charges, Benton police said. Elm died at 6:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 10, 1992, in Union Hospital. Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday in Parker-Reedy Funeral Home, with Charles Donahue officiating.

Burial will be in Tower Heights Cemetery. Visitation will be after 5 p.m. today at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Giving Because We Care Fund at the First Christian Church in West Frankfort, or to the Union Hospital Women's Auxiliary Fund. Mr.

Bowen had worked for the Old Ben and Freeman Coal mines for 47 years. He served as a member of the Illinois Mining Board under four governors, and was an active member of the United Mine Workers for 64 years. He was executive president of the Union Hospital board for many years. The east wing of the hospital was named in Mr. Bowen's honor.

He served as police and fire commissioner in West Frankfort for four years, and was a member of Masonic Lodge 567. He was born July 2, 1912, in Graham, to Robert and Winnie (Locke) Bowen. He married Margaret Kinstler on July 2, 1933, in West Frankfort. She survives. Other survivors include one daughter, Mary Jo Harris of West Frankfort; one son, Michael Bowen of Oak Forest; three granddaughters, Karen Yesinkus, Lisa Schultz and Julie Bowen; four great-grandchildren, Gary and Steven Schultz, Scott Yearwood and Michael Kohlman; two brothers, Albert Bowen of New Buffalo, Mich, and George Gossett of West Frankfort; one sister, Ber-nice Schottmueller of Florissant, and one sister-in-law, Peryl Galloway of West Frankfort.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and four brothers. Larry Owsley ORIENT Larry Owsley, 61, of St. Louis, formerly of Orient, died Friday, Oct. 9, 1992, in St. Louis.

She is also preceded in death by one daughter, her parents, two brothers and one sister.
