By Pete Rosenbery The Southern Illinoisan The investigation is continuing into Sunday's boat collision on Lake of Egypt that killed a Missouri teen-ager and injured two other people. A police officer with the Illinois Department of Natural Resources said that alcohol and speed were not thought to be contributing factors in the 1:26 p.m. accident in front of the Egyptian Hills Marina in Johnson County. Killed was Robbie Maddox, 14, of Dexter, Mo.

He was a passenger in a boat driven by his father, Robert C. Maddox, 47, of Dexter, conservation police officer Scott Wright said Monday. Maddox's 17-foot fiberglass fishing boat was westbound when it was hit by a northbound boat driven by Michael D. Goessman, 35, of Sesser. Goessman's boat, a 21-foot fiberglass bass boat, was coming out of a cove and its bow, or front, was up in the air when the collision occurred, Wright said.

Court records indicate "there is a substantial probability" that Cundiff, if provided treatment, will attain fitness within one year.
