She was born Feb.22, Ben- ton.Ruth was the youngest of six children born to Lois Milton and Mary Elizabeth (Escue) Howell. Family was the most important thing in life.She was a devoted mother to her two Ann and Marylyn Sue; and was an adoring and loving and grandmother.By example she instilled and a strong sense of family to her daughters and her grandchildren. Ruth was a member of Grace United Methodist Church.

She is survived by her (Miller) and Bagley; grandchildren and spouses, Teresa Lay and Leo Lay, Paula Smith and Keith and Jean Lay and Stephen and Cathy Lay; great-grandchildren; Eric Schmidgall, Elizabeth Bodensteiner, Kathryn and Christina and Matthew Lay and Sydney Lay; and McKinley Voisard and Liam May 7, 2012; stepgrandchildren, Tammy (Bagley) Rinella, Rodney Bagley and Brad Bagley; and nieces and and Bobby. She was preceded in death by her Brewer; Sue (Miller) Schmitto; Lay and Michael Smith; siblings, and Mable; Cantrell; and (Howell). Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m.Sunday at the funeral home. Hughey Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Marvin Tucker CARBONDALE Marvin of at 8:55 p.m. Lourdes Hospital in Paducah. Marvin Tucker was a longtime and active member of University Baptist he served as a in the church clothes closet and served on numerous com- mittees.Marvin loved his church and church family.

He graduated from Lone Oak High School in 1957, received his B.S.in accounting from Western Kentucky University in Bowling Green in MBA from Indiana University in 1961 and his Ph.D.in Accounting from the University of Alabama in 1966.Dr.Tucker was a professor in the department of accountancy at Southern Illinois University and retired after 32 years of service.He co-authored three books and had numerous professional publications.On numerous writings were chosen to be presented at various professional accounting meetings and conventions. Marvin was a member of the National Association of University American Management Illinois Retired Teacher Association and the American Accounting Association. Survivors include his wife of 53 Ann Phelps Tucker; three sons, Marvin Tucker III of Phelps (Aynmarie) Tucker of Phoenix and Commander Matthew Patrick (Erin) Tucker of Virginia Beach, and eight Tucker, Tristan Tucker, Abigail Tucker and Grace Tucker. He was preceded in death by his W. Tucker Sr.and Murrell Dean Johnson Tucker.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m.today,May University Baptist Church in Carbondale.Services will be at 10 a.m.Saturday,May 12, at the the Rev. Jon Annable officiating. Burial and graveside service will be at 2 p.m.in Mount Kenton Cemetery in Paducah. In lieu of may be made to University Baptist Church, 700 South Oakland, 62901. Marvin was an extremely loving grandfather and friend and will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

away peacefully at 7:15 a.m. Wednesday, May Parkway Manor of Marion. She was born Friday, Nov.23,1917, in Ferges in Williamson daughter of Herbert Harland and Mamie Dell (Sanders) Grant. Her working career was with Allen Industries of a seamstress in the sewing and trim department, for 20 years until her retirement in 1973. She was a member of Warder Street Baptist Church of Marion.She also was a member of the Williamson County Home Extension for many years.

In addition to caring for her family and loved to cook and bake pies and enjoyed sharing them with her family and friends.She passed many hours working jigsaw puzzles that she would frame and give as gifts.She loved to do quilting and made many quilts for her family and friends. She is survived by her two sons and daughters-in-law, Harry Marianne McNeill of Herrin and Dennis and Lisa Lyell of Goreville; four Luton and her husband, Tracia Wagley and her Becker of Herrin and Megon Lyell of Christopher; five McNeill and his Michael Lyell of Goreville, Jason Lyell of Christopher, Dylan Lyell of Goreville and Seth Shepherd of Marion; six great-grandchildren, Houston Lyell and Elyssa Lyell; two sisters, Mary Ellen Hinckle of Goreville and Delores Kelton of Marion; brother and and Alma Grant of Ferges; sister-in- Grant of Johnston City; special Frey of Herrin; other extended family and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Wilda Faye Davis; two sisters, Lola Bandy and Viola Jones; and three Lee Grant and Lindell Dean Grant. Arrangements for Helena J. He was born to Billie and Versia (Ozee) Derringer on June Golconda. He married Joan (Averbeck) Wenzel on Dec.15, Chester.She survives. Garry was a Union Carpenter Local 662 for 40 years.He was a member of Chester County Saddle Club and Steeleville Bass Club.He was a former fire chief of Ellis Grove Volunteer Fire Department.He was an avid fisherman and hunter. Survivors include wife, Joan Derringer of Ellis Grove; four (Dave) Rodriguez of Kimberley (Penty) Wheeler of Royse (Mark Reeves) Derringer of Coulterville and Lonnie (Erin) Wenzel of Centralia; 15 and Alicia one great-grandson, Levi; four (Jim) Whittenberg of Chester, Bill (Cindy) Derringer of (Terry) Derringer of LaDonna (Jesse) Donjon of Red Bud; one sister-in-law; five brothers-in-law; and numerous cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; father-in-law, Henry Averbeck; and sister- Derringer.

Rodney accepted Christ at Mount Olive Baptist Church at an early age. He was an active member of the community and a friend to both the young and old.Rodney used his maintenance skills to assist local and family in any way he could.

He was a great role model and seen as a father figure to many who were close to him. Rodney graduated from Herrin High School in 1973. With a school record still known as out a football career with 3,859 yards and 44 touchdowns scored for the Herrin tigers.After high school, Rodney received a football scholarship to SIU. Rodney worked at Allen Industries as a machine maintenance Parkway Senior Community as a maintenance supervisor and Herrin Unit Four District as an assistant maintenance supervisor. Rodney was preceded in death by his brother and one sister.

He leaves to cherish his memory a loving two Jones of Colp and Yvonna and spouse, Reginald Carterville; four brothers, Louis Jones Jr.of Colp, Bennie Jones of Chicago, Vernell Jones of Colp and Donald and two and spouse, Jackie Waterproof, Dorthell McCurdy of Springfield; 10 grandchildren; and several nephews, nieces and a host of friends and family. Rebecca enjoyed working outdoors on her farm and spending time with her family and friends.
