Dale was born July 2, White son of Lewis and Lura (Newcomb) Masser. He married Joyce Leah Barr on May 6,1954. Dale retired in 1983 from the Illinois State Police, Department of Professional Standards.He had also served in District 12 and 13.

He served in the Illinois National Guard in Korea and was a member of First Christian Church in Carmi. In his retirement years, Dale enjoyed woodworking, gardening and traveling. Dale is survived by the love of his 57 years; two daughters and sons-in- and Mark Koester of Teutopolis and Joni and Don Gulley of a son and daughter-in-law, Bruce and Colleen Masser of Carmi; two sisters and a Barr of Pamela and Thomas Woelfel of Centralia; a brother and and Shirley Masser of Prescott, five granddaughters, Jennifer (David) Johnson, Amy Koester, Megan Gulley and Kaitlin Gulley; and three great- Gracelyn and Emma Rose. He was preceded in death by a Barr. Services will be at 11 a.m.

Burial will be in North Oakwood Cemetery in Carterville with military rites performed by Marion VFW Hyde-Pillow Post 1301 and Illinois Army National Guard.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m.to 1 p.m.Tuesday at the funeral home. Ivan was born July 4,1930, in West Salem to Joseph and Mary Sams.He married Beryl Cobble on Dec. DeKalb; she preceded him in death June 1, 1989. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Peggy and Bruce Tyner of Cambria; grandchildren and their and Brandy Tyner of Cambria and Tobie and Benji Cain of Carterville; Tyner, Devon Cain and Hannah Cain; brother and sister-in- and Millie Sams of California; Hall of Sycamore; and dear Hicks of Ivan was preceded in death by his wife and four brothers and sisters. He honorably served our country in the U.S.Army and Air Force during the Korean Conflict.

Ivan retired in 1991 after 42 years of service as a lineman for DeKalb Sandwich and GTE in Carterville and Carbondale. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Moose Lodge and the Club in Sandwich. Elsie Baynes DU QUOIN Elsie away at 10:27 a.m.Friday,May Marshall Browning Hospital in Du Quoin. Elsie was a homemaker.

She was a member of First United Presbyterian Church in Du Quoin. She had been an active church choir member and served on several church committees. She also served as a deacon. Elsie had been a member of Du Quoin Garden Club, Monday Club and Domestic Science Club. She was born April 2, the daughter of Alexander and Isabella (Murphy) Hendry.

Survivors include a Baynes Cook and husband Steve of Hinsdale; Alexander Baynes and wife Lisa of and six Baynes, Alec Baynes and Julian Baynes. She was preceded in death by her parents. Mary Lou always remembered friends who were ill, bereaved or confined to nursing homes with visits and acts of kindness.Her family loved and cherished every moment they spent with her. Margaret will be remembered for her strong and hospitality.But,most of all, she will be remembered for her strong spirit and amazing capacity to love. Her and great-grandchildren were her most cherished accomplishments and always the main focus throughout her life.She was tremendously proud of her family.Her and support will forever remain within each of them.
