He married Linda Louise Chamness on May 25,1963, in Herrin.They shared 47 years wonderful years their love will go on forever.Gene worked for 40 years as a route salesman with Colonial Baking Cakes, Little Cookies and Frito Lay. Everyone he worked with liked Gene. His favorite thing to do was mow the yard and ride on his golf cart with his wife, his special dogs, Maggie and Buddy. Gene was a member of Crab Orchard Boat and Yacht Club. He enjoyed camping out at Crab Orchard Lake with his special camping friends, Dave and Linda Holland and Janice and Bob Miliano.

Gene was a great husband, father and grandfather.He will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved him. He is survived by his loving Hampton of Carterville; two sons and and Jami Hampton and Jay and Robin of Carterville; father-in-law, A.J.Chamness of Carterville; seven grandchildren, Austin Hampton, Chelsey Coulter and Jesse of Carterville and David May of Herrin; three and of Carterville and Dax of Herrin; six sisters and two brothers-in-law, Phyllis Nelson and her significant and Dwight Borders of Hamilton of Spiller of and Doug Copher of Marion and Joyce Watson of Herrin; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Terry and Mary Crowell of Freeman Spur and Ray Crowell of Herrin; sister-in- law and brother-in-law, Debbie and Butch Browning of Makanda and their family, and Sandy; special Hampton; and many nieces and nephews. Jonathan Runion CARBONDALE Jonathan Michael Runion, away at noon St. Louis University to massive head injuries resulting from a tragic car accident.

Jonathan was born in Murphysboro and lived in Carbondale. Jonathan was preceded in death by his beloved Lindsey from Murphysboro; and Runion of Carbondale. Jonathan worked construction with his father for years.In his spare enjoyed spending time with his wife and family. He met his wife and soul mate 10 years ago and they fell in love immediately.Jon and Kristen married May 22, 2009.Jon was extremely close to his family.Jon spoke to his parents and sister on a daily basis and lived down the road from them.He really enjoyed playing with his Jon loved and spending quiet evenings at home watching DVDs. He had an excellent sense of humor and loved to make his loved ones smile.Jon’s own beautiful and energy were contagious.

Jon had a loving heart and he was extremely generous. He made friends for life and he would give anything he had to help others.Even in his generosity saved six lives though organ donation. Jonathan will be sadly missed by his take comfort in the fact that he is now in peace in Heaven. He is survived by his loving wife and soul mate, Kristen Carbondale; his devoted Runion; and of Carbondale; a sister and and Zeke Pennington of Carbondale; nephew, Ethan Pennington; Lindsey and Bill Runion; his mother and and Bob Dierkes of Chicago; many and cousins; and a brother and sister-in-law of Chicago. Ruth Taylor MURPHYSBORO Ruth Derr Lombard, formerly of Murphysboro, died at 5:55 p.m.Tuesday, May Lombard. Per her request she was cremated. Iva Baumgarte WEST FRANKFORT Iva Lee at 5 p.m.Monday,July 5,2010, in Frankfort Care Center in West Frankfort. She was born Sept.12, Melvin Dawes and Ida Mae Dawes. She married Phillip E. Baumgarte and he preceded her in death April 7,1970. She is survived by a Davis of West Frankfort; her A.Sumsky of Elk Grove Village; and by two great-granddaughters, Jaclyn D.Sumsky and Jessica L.Sumsky of Hoffman Estates.

Mrs.Baumgarte was preceded in death by her parents; and by a Dawes Jr. She was a cosmetologist and had worked as a CNA at Franklin Hospital in Benton for many years. She was a homemaker and retired from I.H.in Chicago. Eda was a member of St. Andrew Catholic Church in Christopher and a member of Catholic Daughters. Survivors include a and Brian Mann of Junction; Mann and Brittany Mann; great- D. Mann and Jacob R.Mann; and nieces and nephews, Marino Mace and Robert Fabris.

Jacob Treece CARTERVILLE Jacob month-old son of Jessica Maurizio and David Treece, passed away at 3:52 p.m. Cardinal Glennon Hospital in St.Louis.
